AI & automation

AI in social care

AI can help present information for review, but it must not take over professional responsibility. Distinguish AI-assisted summaries from straightforward automated workflows.

A verified use: AI visit briefings

MyCareManager advertises AI visit briefings using previous notes to help carers arrive informed. Staff should still read the relevant records and check any summary against the source; a briefing is not a substitute for the care plan or current instructions.

Reminders are automation, not AI

Compliance action reminders and policy acknowledgement notifications follow defined workflows. Calling these AI would obscure how they work. MyCareHub labels AI and automated features separately.

Questions to ask before enabling AI

Ask what information is sent, which supplier processes it, how access is controlled and what a person must check before acting. MyCareHub's own demo-request summaries use only the selected product, whether a phone was supplied and the submission date; our privacy notice explains that separate use.

Questions about ai & automation

Can AI make safeguarding or clinical decisions for us?

We do not offer that claim. Human judgement, safeguarding responsibilities and regulatory accountability remain with the service and its professionals.

Are all automated features AI?

No. A reminder or fixed notification workflow is automation. AI-assisted text generation is a different process and requires review.
